What is a token?

“Token” is often used as a synonym for “cryptocurrency” (AKA “cryptocurrency token”), since cryptocurrencies exist as tokenized data (a type of encrypted data used both in cryptocurrency and in computer security in general). However, sometimes people use the term token to specifically refer to a digital asset that exists on the blockchain of another cryptocurrency (for example, OMG is the ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain). In computer security and cryptocurrency, the term token usually refers to a cryptographic string of numbers and letters, which does not contain real data, but refers to real data (this cryptographic code is a "replacement" for real data). OUR MISSION

The Institute for Decentralized Thinking is the first modern decentralized online course powered by the Ethereum blockchain. Documents for the Institute for Decentralized Thinking were conceived and written with the concept of creating the first decentralized platform for online courses.
